Support Drop out Prevention and Poverty Prevention

The U.N.I.T.Y (You-N- I and The Youth) Campaign: The name fits the purpose. This campaign is purposed to unite everyone for the betterment of our city’s future which is our city’s kids. Simply put, our city’s public school system has an alarming amount of kids that either dropout of school and/or grow up poor every year. This puts a burden on our city because when kids don’t graduate school or grow up poor; then, poverty levels increase, the number of families on low-income assistance increases. For those that may think they are exempt from this burden because they do not have kids or their kids do not attend public schools; then here is a news flash. Crime rates increase. Not to mention, the cost to educate 1 student in CMS is appx. $8,000 to $9,000. The cost to incarcerate that same student as an adult is over twice as much. Guess where the monies for incarceration come from? Getting the picture? One solution…Join our U.N.I.T.Y Campaign

1 student drops out of school every 26 seconds…BMOR

As the poverty level in a school increases, the problems that poverty presents do not increase proportionately. It is much worse. They compound….Aberman

Perhaps you or someone you know did not graduate from high-school? Perhaps you or someone you know struggles financially?
